Trinity Blood - Anime
Trinity Blood is a series of Japanese light novels written by Sunao Yoshida. From the novels came the anime and manga adaptations, but all three works are significantly different- unique in their own right. Sunao Yoshida passed away from a lung blockage at the young age of 34 shortly after the production of the Trinity Blood anime series was announced. The first episode premiered in Japan on WOWOW on April 28, 2005; new episodes aired weekly until its conclusion on October 27, 2005. The 24 episodes were directed by Tomohiro Hirata and animated by Gonzo.
Trinity Blood first premiered in dubbed English on July 6, 2006 on the Razer specialty channel in Canada, and it premiered in the United States on September 9, 2006 as part of the Adult Swim block of Cartoon Network. Madman Entertainment licensed the series for English release in Australia and New Zealand.
For all twenty-four episodes of the original series, the opening theme, "Dress (Bloody Trinity Mix)", is performed by Buck-Tick with lyrics by Atsushi Sakurai. The ending theme, "Broken Wings", is performed by Tomoko Tane, who also wrote the lyrics.
Official English Summary:
“Armageddon has hit and the world is in shambles. Vampires and humans are at war with each other and an international agency known as the Chancery (Vatican) tries to intercede to protect the humans by using allies such as AX, a special operations force run by Cardinal Catherina. AX's agents are called executors.
Meet Abel Nightroad, an executor who is actually a vampire with the ability to suck the blood of other vampires. He soon meets a young girl named Esther. The outcome of this meeting will determine the fate of both the human race and the vampires!”
