Armageddon has hit! The world is left in shambles. Centuries later,
humanity rebuilds itself. The Vatican now takes up the task of
preserving the peace.
Abel Nightroad is a priest, an executor who works for the Vatican in Rome. While on board the airship, the Tristan, he meets a young lady named Jessica Langston. He orders coffee with 13 tablespoons of sugar in it. Abel noticed that Jessica is studying to become a pilot, and she hopes to fly an airship as great as the Tristan one day.
After spilling some coffee on Abel, she gets a call from the pilot, and heads to the bridge to deliver some beverages. While on the bridge, the crew jokes around with the Engineer, telling him that Jessica should take his place. Suddenly, a vampire jets out of the next room and kills the three men. He walks up to Jessica and says that he'll save her for later. He inserts a disk inside the main computer, and hijacks the airship. He than sets its course to crash directly into the Vatican. After that, the vampire heads for Jessica. He was about to bite her when Abel arrives. He sees the vampire and accidentally shoots a pipe. This releases steam and it injures the vampire. Abel takes Jessica and runs.
In the Vatican, the members higher up in the Hierarchy discuss the situation with the Tristan. Cardinal Francesco de Medici suggests that they shoot the Tristan down immediately, while Lady Caterina Sforza proposes a different approach. The Pope, Alessandro XVIII is at a loss about what he should do, and whose advice he should follow. After the meeting is adjourned, Francesco secretly takes it upon himself to fire lost technology at the airship – a heat-seeking missile.
Back on the Tristan, Abel and Jessica head to the main computer. Abel begins to hack it, and much to Jessica's surprise, he is able to use the lost technology with ease and successfully takes back control of the ship. He tells Jessica to fly it. After a little reassuring, the vampire returns and attacks Abel.
Abel manages to lead him to the roof, where Abel transforms and reveals his full power. The vampire asks what he is, and Abel responds that he is a Crusnik– a vampire who feeds on other vampires. With his incredible strength, Abel slices up the vampire until he gains the information he needs. Before he kills the vampire, he learns that the vampire is working for the "Fleurs du Mal". He then says a prayer for him, even though the vampire is surely damned.
Suddenly, Abel notices the missile heading toward the airship. He jumps back in, and tells Jessica to aim the ship toward the ground, so that they can pick up more speed and lose the missile. However, it's too late, as they cannot descend fast enough. Luckily, Father Tres Iques blows up the missile, a la Caterina's orders, who found out that Francesco fired the missile without permission. In the end, the airship and the Vatican are saved.
